Eye Surgery Treatment Costs
What the contemporary patient and tax-payer is looking for is professional services at a fair price and no hidden charges. The latest surgery techniques are usually more costly than other medical interventions so the cost of such procedures ranges from a few hundred to one thousand pounds, according to the difficulty of the procedure and the seriousness of your eye condition.
Laser Eye Surgery Costs
Though the consultation is free of charge, patients will be required to place a deposit of £30. The cost of treatment comprises astigmatism (in case it is needed) and aftercare for the year to come. For LASIK eye surgery you will have to make a deposit £100 for each eye after the consultation. This will secure the date of your treatment; the balance should be paid before the surgery date.
Prices for laser eye treatment start at £395 per eye and rather depend on the treatment that is recommended during the consultation. The flexible options available will suit all needs of the patients, irrespective of their income.
The consultation fee is £60 but it will be paid only once if both eyes will be treated within six months following the initial consultation. ICL treatment requires a deposit of £500 per eye; it includes the manufacturing cost of the lenses and aftercare for a year after surgery as well. Cataract and ICL treatment may go up to £1395 for both short and long sight.
CK consultation requires £60 and £995 for treatment per eye (reading glasses – Presbyopia). Since most patients require treatment in only one eye, you can save substantially.
There are several acceptable payment methods: debit card – Delta or Maestro (Switch); credit card – MasterCard or Visa (in this case a handling fee of £5 will be applicable); personal cheque and different easy payment plans. You will be required to bring a photo ID, proof of address and a recent full bank statement from the bank. If you have a suitable bank account, you may be allowed to get a credit.
Cancellations
A refund of the deposit is possible but you will have to cancel an appointment no later than five days prior to it. Since the deposit for implantable contact lenses includes the manufacturing cost, a refund will not be accepted.
